In a significant move to enhance its presence in the hospitality sector, the Access Group, a leading provider of business management software, has acquired QikServe, a digital commerce platform specialising in mobile and kiosk-based order and pay solutions. This acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, brings QikServe under the umbrella of the Access Group's hospitality division, which offers a range of IT solutions to streamline operations within the industry.
QikServe's technology, which supports digital ordering and payment services across cafés, quick service restaurants, hotels, casinos, and resorts, aligns with Access Group's vision of delivering integrated, user-friendly solutions for the hospitality sector. This acquisition marks another strategic step for the Access Group, following its earlier acquisitions of Wireless Social, Guestline, and ResDiary. It is all part of a broader strategy to enhance its comprehensive IT offerings.
Champa Magesh, Managing Director of Access Hospitality, highlighted the importance of the acquisition in broadening the group's capabilities. "QikServe brings us new capabilities and a strong customer base, which complements our existing UK operations and helps further our international expansion plans," Magesh stated. She further emphasised the Access Group's goal of creating an integrated platform allowing hospitality operators to improve guest experiences, operate more efficiently, and ultimately drive profitability.
Daniel Rodgers, the founder and president of QikServe, welcomed the acquisition, noting the potential it unlocks for both companies. "Being part of the Access Group opens up tremendous opportunities, and we're eager to begin this next chapter," he said.
Tony Murphy, CEO of QikServe, also expressed optimism about the future, stating that QikServe's five-year collaboration with Access has already produced strong results and that this acquisition will provide new avenues for digital transformation across both companies' customer bases.
Founded in 2011 by Daniel Rodgers and Ronnie Forbes, QikServe has built a reputation for its innovative cloud platform, which allows customers to order and pay for items using smartphones, tablets, or self-service kiosks. The company's technology is now deployed in over 8,000 locations across more than 40 countries, processing millions of transactions and generating over £3 billion in digital sales for hospitality operators.
This acquisition demonstrates the Access Group's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to meet the evolving demands of the global hospitality industry, positioning itself as a key player in driving the sector's digital transformation.
