Burger & Lobster Sets Sights on New UK Openings After Successful Year

Burger & Lobster is actively exploring opportunities to expand its presence across the UK in London and beyond. The restaurant group, known for its distinctive menu and global footprint, hopes to launch a new UK site by the end of the year.
Currently operating 18 restaurants worldwide, nine located in London, Burger & Lobster is poised to capitalise on its recent financial success. The company has reported a 59% increase in pre-tax earnings, reaching £3.5 million in 2023, with a like-for-like sales growth of 9%. Overall group turnover remained steady at £36.1 million, a slight dip from £36.5 million in 2022.
In addition to its financial achievements, Burger & Lobster has made significant strides in energy efficiency. Through introducing new initiatives and dedicated team training, the group has reduced energy usage by 8.5% over the past year. Staff retention remains high, with 69% of employees staying with the company.
Dino Sura, Managing Director of Burger & Lobster Restaurant Group, expressed optimism about the company’s future. “After a great year and having focused heavily on quality of service, menu development, and brand positioning, we feel confident that now is the right time to expand. We hope to open a new site before the end of the year, with further expansions planned for next year,” Sura said. “Our commitment to the customer and ensuring a high-quality experience remains at the core of everything we do.”
Burger & Lobster’s global presence includes restaurants in key cities such as Singapore, New York, Kuwait City, Malaysia, Bangkok, Qatar, and the Philippines. With a solid foundation, the company’s UK expansion plans reflect a broader ambition to grow its brand and reach new markets.
