FREE Chip Shop Owners Open Day - Join Isle of Ely on the Farm!

Isle of Ely Produce and Chippy Chat invite chip shop owners and managers to their annual open day on Sunday, September 15th, 2024. This is one of the premier FREE industry events of the year!
The event kicks off at 9:30 AM at our farm in Ely, Cambridgeshire with coffee and a chance to network with industry colleagues. This is a valuable opportunity for chip shop owners and staff to learn firsthand about the 2024/25 potato crop, including predictions for cost and quality. You'll also get to see the new crop and hear expert commentary from farmer Dr.Mike Neaverson.
Many key suppliers will be present, including Pukka Pies, Oil Chef, Premier 1 Filtration, TQuality, Friars Pride, and many more. If you're interested in sponsoring or exhibiting, please email austen@chippychat.co.uk.
The day features presentations from award-winning fish and chip shop owners on our giant AV setup. Guest speakers include NFFF President Andrew Crook, National Fish & Chip Award winners Ryan & Kimberly Hughes, Graham Kennedy from Bells, Josette Foster, Carol and Mike Hulme from Finneys, and Victoria Braathen from Seafood from Norway, with more to be announced.
Oliver Boutwood will host Q&A sessions, and you'll have the chance to try Babylon, a new chipping variety from Agrico, along with plenty of samples and freebies. This event is suitable for all levels of management and young friers, with a maximum of three free tickets per shop. Free refreshments will be served.
In 2023, over 50 attendees stayed in Ely for an evening meal and drinks, providing a relaxed setting to connect with industry peers. If you plan to stay overnight, please email austen@chippychat.co.uk to be added to the list for the restaurant and to receive hotel options.
