According to a spokesperson from McDonald's Japan, the company had to cease operations at several stores nationwide following a system breakdown. This situation was echoed in Australia, where a spokesperson confirmed to the Guardian that a technological outage was impacting restaurant operations, with efforts underway to rectify the issue promptly.
Further complicating the scenario, The New York Times reported that McDonald's in Hong Kong was grappling with a "computer system failure," leading to the unavailability of mobile ordering and self-ordering kiosks.
