The National Fish & Chip Awards have announced the finalists for the Digital Marketing category, with three exceptional fish and chip shops showcasing their online prowess. Located in Norfolk, Hampshire, and Stirlingshire, these businesses have demonstrated a keen understanding of effective digital marketing, connecting with customers and keeping them coming back for more.
The Digital Marketing category has become a crucial part of the National Fish & Chip Awards, recognising those who excel in creating great food and know how to market it effectively in the modern, digital age. These finalists have mastered the art of social media, using platforms to craft campaigns that engage their audience and drive foot traffic to their shops. Over the past year, they have demonstrated creativity, consistency, and a deep understanding of their customers’ needs.
Representatives from the fish and chip industry have praised the shortlisted shops for their innovative approaches, highlighting how well these campaigns have attracted customers. After a thorough evaluation, the finalists have emerged, each standing out for their unique and effective use of digital marketing strategies.
The three finalists are:
• Eric’s Fish & Chips, Thornham, Norfolk
• J-Henry’s Fish and Chips, Hedge End, Southampton
• The Real Food Café, Tyndrum, Stirlingshire
Andrew Crook, president of the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), the organisation behind the awards, expressed his admiration for the creativity displayed by these finalists. “So many creatively minded professionals are working hard behind our fish and chip shop counters, spanning different generations. The Digital Marketing category provides fantastic insight into how teams work together to develop memorable ideas and deliver winning strategies,” said Crook. “It’s brilliant to see that our three finalists are mastering the power of online marketing to great effect, and they truly understand their customers’ behaviour, wants, and needs. The competitors’ fun and out-of-the-box thinking has thoroughly impressed the experts – well done to them all!”
