Popeyes UK Surpasses £100 Million in Annual Sales

Popeyes UK has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing £100 million in annual sales, as announced by CEO Tom Crowley. This growth comes as the brand approaches the opening of its 50th site. The popular fried chicken quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain, supported by TDR Capital, continues its expansion with the recent launch of a drive-thru in Manchester on Bury New Road - its second in the city.

Since entering the UK market in November 2021, Popeyes has rapidly grown to operate 47 sites, including traditional restaurants, drive-thrus, and delivery kitchens. "In just 30 months, the outstanding Popeyes UK team have created a business with +£100m annual sales, a pipeline of 'top drawer' new sites including +25 for the year ahead, and we are now achieving our highest product ratings... ever!" said Crowley. "It doesn't feel like work when you are alongside some of the most talented people in the industry."
The expansion strategy doesn't stop here. Popeyes plans to open over 30 restaurants in 2024, aiming to reach 60 sites by year's end. This ambitious growth follows TDR Capital's acquisition of a controlling stake in the UK business in January. Additional openings this year include locations in Bishop Auckland, Exeter, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Nottingham, Swansea, Birmingham, and London Waterloo Station.
