Wingstop UK Breaks £100m Barrier with Ambitious Growth Plans

Wingstop UK has reported a remarkable year of growth, with profits and turnover both reaching record highs. The company described 2024 as a “transformational year”, marked by soaring sales and rapid expansion across the country.

Revenue for the nine months ending 29 December 2024 climbed to £125 million, a significant increase from the £84.7 million achieved in the previous 12 months to March 2024. The change in reporting structure, which shifts the company’s year-end to December, means the first three months of 2024 were included in earlier figures.

Profits followed the same upward trajectory. Pre-tax profits surged from £3.6 million to £13.2 million in the nine-month period, supported by the addition of 15 new restaurants and strong sales performance from existing outlets. By year’s end, Wingstop UK operated 57 sites nationwide.

The momentum has continued into 2025. Since January, the company has opened a further 15 sites, fuelled by the backing of California-based investment firm Sixth Street, which took a majority stake at the beginning of the year. With this support, Wingstop UK has set an ambitious target of 200 restaurants nationwide by 2030.

“2024 was a transformational year for Wingstop UK, delivering record results across every metric and further strengthening profitability,” said Paddy Bamford, Chief Financial Officer. “Since partnering with Sixth Street, we’ve accelerated our UK roll-out programme and deepened our investment in people. We are focused on building the UK’s leading fast-casual restaurant brand.”

The company also confirmed that trading in 2025 is in line with expectations, with new store openings planned across the country. Executives noted that the business remains committed to balancing growth with its focus on youth culture, community engagement, and sustainable expansion.Coming soon to St Enoch's (53327213633)

Recognition has matched performance. In June, Wingstop UK was named the fastest-growing restaurant group in the UK by The Sunday Times 100 for the third consecutive year. The company also earned a place in The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work and featured in the Financial Times’ FT1000 list of Europe’s fastest-growing businesses.

With profits surging, new investment secured, and recognition at national level, Wingstop UK has positioned itself as one of the most dynamic players in Britain’s fast-casual dining market. Its next challenge lies in sustaining this momentum as it pushes towards its ambitious 2030 goal.
