J D Wetherspoon's Fresh Pour: Pubs to Open at Haven Holiday Parks

In a striking move, J D Wetherspoon, a well-established pub chain, has entered into an "exclusive agreement" to set up pubs within Haven Holiday parks. This partnership marks a significant expansion for the renowned pub chain.
Haven, renowned for operating 38 holiday parks across the UK, is set to welcome the first Wetherspoon pub at their Primrose Valley park in Filey, North Yorkshire, this coming March. As of now, this is the sole confirmed location, with future sites yet to be announced.
Peter Blake, Haven's Chief Operating Officer, expressed his enthusiasm about this pioneering collaboration, the first of its kind in the holiday industry. "This new venture underlines our dedication to growing our food and beverage partnerships and offering for our holidaymakers and holiday homeowners," he stated.
Significant investments have been made by Haven, particularly following its acquisition by Blackstone in 2021. Over £170 million has been invested in enhancing the parks in the past year, with the Wetherspoon agreement being part of an additional £4 million allocated to upgrade their food and beverage services.
Wetherspoon's Commercial Director, Michael Barron, shared his optimism about the partnership: "We are delighted to be partnering with Haven and are confident the pub will prove popular with holidaymakers."
This strategic move isn't the first time Wetherspoon has ventured beyond traditional high streets to attract more customers. In 2022, the chain broke new ground by partnering with a students' union, establishing the first-ever 'Spoons' on a British university campus. Further back, in 2014, the company faced controversy but also garnered attention by opening the first motorway service station pub, The Hope and Champion.
As Wetherspoon continues to innovate and expand its reach, this latest venture with Haven Holiday Parks promises to bring a unique pub experience to holiday settings.
