Posted by News on 8th Dec 2022

Little Caesars Pizza, the American pizza group, is returning to the UK market after a 22-year hiatus. The company plans to inaugurate four new restaurants in the upcoming months. This strategic expansion begins with opening the first new restaurant in Chellaston, Derby, next month, followed by two locations in London and one in Liverpool, all set to launch early next year.

Paula Vissing, the Chief Operating Officer of Little Caesars Pizza, expressed her excitement about the expansion. "As we continue to expand around the world, we are thrilled to bring Little Caesars Pizza and our globally recognized value, quality, and convenience to the UK," she stated. "The UK is an important new market for us given how influential it is. We expect to open several new sites in this market over the next few years, and we are excited to be entering with such strong franchisee groups in Derby, London, and Liverpool."

Little Caesars, with its roots in Detroit and a history dating back to 1959, had ventured into the UK market in the mid-1980s, reaching a peak of about 18 sites. However, the company retreated in 2000 due to challenges in establishing a solid market presence. Today, Little Caesars is the third-largest pizza chain globally, with over 4,000 locations and an annual turnover of approximately $4 billion.

The brand has expanded its international presence recently, with new restaurants in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada. With a pizza industry valued at over £2.5 billion, the UK presents a significant growth opportunity. "Now is the time to capitalize on that growing momentum. We are seeking additional franchisees interested in entering into area developer agreements in London and other regions, including southern England, Scotland, and Ireland," says Jeremy Vitaro, Chief Development Officer of Little Caesars Pizza.

The UK menu will feature a variety of 12-inch pizzas with toppings like mushroom deluxe, Italian sausage and bacon, pepperoni, and Margherita. Additionally, Little Caesars will offer its signature Crazy Bread - pizza dough straws coated with garlic salt, butter, and Parmesan cheese.
