Pret A Manger Unveils Kids' Menu

Pret A Manger introduces its inaugural children's menu, catering to kids aged 4 to 10. This move represents the latest stride in the company's strategy to broaden its presence across the UK, extending beyond London.

Starting Tuesday, January 16th, the new kids' menu will debut in 70% of Pret's stores nationwide. This development aims to diversify Pret's customer base while emphasising expansion outside the capital city.

Pret's transformation has revolved around a fundamental change in serving customers, offering freshly prepared, high-quality food and organic coffee through digital and retail channels. In recent years, Pret has accelerated its growth with franchise partners, opening new branches in areas like Bishop's Stortford, Colchester, and Worthing. Several shops in regions like Yorkshire and Manchester have also reported strong performance.

Much like Pret's main menu, all items in the kids' range will be freshly prepared by in-store team members using the same top-notch ingredients featured in Pret's signature offerings. For instance, the Kids' Ham Triangle sandwiches utilise the same Wiltshire cured ham as the best-selling Ham & Greve Baguette but with child-friendly, thinner slices. The Hummus and cucumber pot has been redesigned based on feedback from a kids' tasting panel.

Additional products in the range include Kids' Cheese Triangle sandwiches, Kids' Chicken and Cucumber Triangle sandwiches, and a Kids' Pizza Toastie. Side options encompass a Kids' Mango and banana Yoghurt Pot and a Kids' Hummus and cucumber Bowl. The packaging is adorned with children's hand-drawn illustrations of Pret icons, adding a playful touch.

Children can complement their meals with a complimentary Barista-made babycino. Club Pret subscribers also enjoy a 20% discount on the kids' menu.

The menu will progressively roll out to more stores throughout 2024, with plans to expand into snacks and treats tested by kids.

Clare Clough, UK & Ireland Managing Director at Pret, expressed her enthusiasm: "Launching Pret's first comprehensive kids' menu has always been a personal goal. We collaborated closely with our food development team, franchise partners, and even our extended Pret family to craft a menu that showcases the same high-quality ingredients found in our beloved Pret classics, tailored to children's preferences."

She added, "This marks a significant milestone in our transformation journey to introduce Pret to a more diverse customer base across the country, from professionals to entire families. Expanding our menu offering felt timely as we continue to prioritise growth outside of London. We eagerly await feedback and look forward to cementing Pret's role in our customers' lives."
