In the south, Wendy's partnership with GH Burger will see a new restaurant in Wood Green, additional sites in Southend-on-Sea and a second location in Colchester. The expansion continues in the north with the establishment of restaurants in Middlesborough and Liverpool. Liverpool's introduction to Wendy's first physical restaurant follows the launch of a delivery kitchen in 2023 at Gravity Max. Furthermore, the company plans to open a franchise in Newcastle and a second Sheffield restaurant, a move that will collectively create approximately 400 jobs, bringing a positive economic boost to these areas.

This announcement follows the successful launch of Wendy's restaurants in Derby, Guildford, Chelmsford, and Bilton. According to Michael Clarke, UK Managing Director, the UK has shown a strong affinity for Wendy's, with a growing sense of anticipation for new openings. "We've seen great momentum in building Wendy's fandom in the UK, and the love and excitement for this iconic brand grows stronger with each new restaurant opening," Clarke stated. He also highlighted the British public's eager inquiries about new Wendy's locations and expressed excitement about meeting this demand by expanding the brand's reach across the country.

Clarke emphasised the consumer's desire for varied food access points, noting Wendy's strategic positioning to offer convenience and speed across multiple channels, including delivery, takeaway, drive-thru, and dine-in services. "With consumers looking to access food through multiple touchpoints, Wendy's is well positioned to offer its customers speed and convenience," he remarked.
